# No Response to Prefix Commands

If the bot is not responding to prefix commands in your server, try the steps below:

Make sure the bot has access to the channel or has the `administrator` permission

Make sure you did not [change the prefix of the bot](/infinitybot-docs/server-tools/prefix-commands.md#change-the-prefix-of-the-bot). You can check this by using the `!prefix` command, this command will always be the same. 

If you did change your prefix for the server, make sure to use that prefix in all other commands.
