Mention Spam

The mention spam rule will block messages that exceed the selected amount of user and role mentions. You can learn how to enable it with the steps below.

1

Enable the Rule

First of all, you will need to enable the Block Mention Spam rule, you can do so by toggling the toggle switch of the correct rule.

2

Configure Limits

After enabling the rule, you will now need to configure a maximum of mentions in one message. We advise 3 - 5 mentions per message.

Additionally, you can also enable mention raid detection. This advanced system will detect mention spam in more than one message, meaning the limit is harder to avoid. We advise this to be enabled.

Configure Actions

After that, you will be able to enable actions to take after a user broke the rule.

When rule is triggered

In this menu you can select what you want Discord to do when a message triggers this AutoMod rule. You can choose from:

  • Block Message, this will block the message from being send in your server.

  • Send alert, this will flag the message for review by one of your moderators.

  • Timeout Member, this will timeout the member, which will block them from sending any messages in your server.

Alert Channel

In this menu you can select the channel where you want AutoMod actions to be logged. Make sure this is a moderator-only channel!
