[OLD] Discord AutoMod Manager

The Discord AutoMod Manager allows you to create, edit, customize and delete AutoMod rules in your server.

AutoMod Manager Features

Manager Command

To open the AutoMod manager, use the /automod-manager command.

In this option you can select what action you would like to take. You can create, edit or delete an AutoMod rule

Create an AutoMod rule

To create an AutoMod rule, use the /automod-manager command and select the "Create a new AutoMod rule" option as action. A steplist for creating an new AutoMod rule can be found here.

The buttons below the creator manager can be used for the following things:

Create Rule

The Create Rule button can be used to create the AutoMod rule. You can only using this button if you added at least one blocked word.

Add Blocked Word

The Add Blocked Word button can be used to add blocked words to that AutoMod rule. After you used the button, you will get a form. In that form you can enter the word.

After you press "Submit", you will get the advanced matching panel, to learn more about advanced matching, press here.

Manage Basic Settings

With the Manage Basic Settings button you can change the rule's settings.

Select log channel

With this option you can select a log channel for your AutoMod rule, if a message gets blocked a log will be send to the log channel.

Select ignored channel

With this option you can select a channel that the AutoMod rule should ignore.

Select ignored role

With this option you can select a role that the AutoMod rule should ignore.

Users with the manage server permissions are always ignored by the auto mod system.

Change rule name

With this option you can edit the AutoMod rule's name.

Change block message

With this option you can edit the AutoMod rule's block message.

Create Rule With Template

The Create Rule With Template button can be used to create an AutoMod rule with a template. Here are the templates you can use:

  • Invite links, this template will block all Discord invite links

  • Basic swear words, this template will block the most used swear words

  • Mention spam, this template will block mention spam

Cancel

With the Cancel button you can cancel the manager.

Create an AutoMod Rule Steplist

First, use the /automod-manager command and select the "Create a new AutoMod rule" as action

Second, select a log channel for your new AutoMod rule with the provided menu

Third, add some keywords with the add blocked words button or select a template.

If you wish to apply advanced matching, you will be able to find more information about it here.

If you wish, you can also select an ignored role & ignored channel.

When you added as many keywords as you like and customized the rest of the rule to your liking, you can press the create rule button to create the rule.

Edit an AutoMod rule

To edit an AutoMod rule, use the /automod-manager command and select the "Edit an AutoMod rule" option as action.

After you used the command, you will get a menu where you can select the AutoMod rule you want to edit.

After you selected the right rule, you will get the editor:

The buttons below the editor manager can be used for the following things:

Save Rule

The Save Rule button can be used to save the AutoMod rule.

Add Blocked Word

The Add Blocked Word button can be used to add blocked words to that AutoMod rule. After you used the button, you will get a form. In that form you can enter the word.

Remove Blocked Word

With the Remove Blocked Word button you can remove a word from the blocked word list. After you used the button, you will get a form. In that form you can enter the word you wish to remove.

Add Allowed Word

With the Add Allowed Word button you can add a word that you wish to allow. After you used the button, you will get a form. In that form you can enter the word you wish to be allowed.

Allowed word example

If you would block the word "apple", but want to allow users to say "applepie", you will need to add "applepie" as allowed word here.

Manage Basic Settings

With the Manage Basic Settings button you can change the rule's settings.

Select log channel

With this option you can select a log channel for your AutoMod rule, if a message gets blocked a log will be send to the log channel.

With this option you can select a channel that the AutoMod rule should ignore.

With this option you can select a role that the AutoMod rule should ignore.

Delete an AutoMod rule

To delete an AutoMod rule, use the /automod-manager command and select the "Delete an AutoMod rule" option as action.

After you used the command, you will get a menu where you can select the AutoMod rule you want to delete.

Advanced Matching

You can use advanced matching when adding a word, advanced matching will match a keyword before or after a word, For example:

  • 🟥world🟥 "World" (Matched on no side)

  • 🟩world🟩 "Otherworldly" (Matched on both sides)

  • 🟩world🟥 "Subworld" (Matched on the left side)

  • 🟥world🟩 "Worldwide" (Matched on the right side)

The buttons below the panel will match the squares in the example, press the buttons to change them, when ready press the "Save" button.

Common Errors

There are some errors that you can get with this command. The common ones are listed below:

You reached the limit of 10 Automod rules in the server!

Discord has added a limit of 10 auto mod rules in every server. This means you cannot get more than that.

You need to add at least one blocked word to create a new rule!

Make sure to add at least one word with the 'Add blocked word' button before creating the rule.
